Why do we design the Slice Fest Edge Guard Tape?

As a foodie, I always want some relatable pickleball gear. The same goes for edge guard tapes. However, after looking everywhere, nothing quite clicked. Eventually, I thought, why not design one? So I asked my illustrator friend Harry to start from scratch.

Of course, we started with pepperoni pizza (my favorite). Plus, in the previous posts I’ve said I really love teaching pickleball and sharing the fun with my friends. So I’d like to carry that feeling of sharing over to the edge tape. That’s why I asked Harry to add the pizza box with a grabbing hand on the tape.

Then we added cocktails and coconut trees because we are now living in a sunny, tropical country where cold drinks and coconuts are must-haves. That’s the mood we want: chilling, fun, and on vacation.

We also doodled a pickleball shooting star to make the whole tape vibe feel like pouring pickleball star rains.

So voilà! Here’s the tape art we finally came up with. We call it Slice Fest. Like being at a pizza festival. What do y’all think?
