In the last post, I reviewed different pickleball courts in Chiangmai. Many people asked about how to find the right Open Play that matches their skill level and schedule here. So let’s dive into it.
Chiang Mai’s pickleball community is not huge, but very active. Whether you are a beginner looking for casual games or a 4.0+ player searching for competitive matches, there are several ways to find the one that fits your needs.
Method 1: Use the Reclub App — The Easiest Option
The most common way to find public pickleball events in Chiang Mai is through the Reclub App.
Most Open Play sessions that allow public registration are posted there. You can filter activities based on:
Court location
Time
Player level
This allows you to find games that fit your skill level before you arrive, instead of showing up and hoping the games are suitable.
For visitors who are new to Chiang Mai, Reclub is usually the fastest way to discover local pickleball activities.
Method 2: Drop In at Chiang Mai Pickleball Club — No Booking Needed
If you prefer not to plan ahead and just want to show up and play, Chiang Mai Pickleball Club is a great option.
They have Open Play every day from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and players of all skill levels are welcome.
The biggest advantages are:
No booking required
Very social atmosphere
Easy to meet new players
Extremely affordable
The fee is ONLY THB 20 (USD 0.6) per person. Mind-blowing!
More than just a place to play, it feels like a local pickleball community gathering. Many local players come here regularly, making it a great place to meet people if you are new to Chiang Mai.
A few things to keep in mind:
The facilities are more basic compared to dedicated indoor courts
You may need to wait during busy hours
It can get hot closer to noon
For the best experience, try to arrive earlier in the morning.
Method 3: Join Private Groups — The Best Way to Find Higher-Level Games
If you are a 4.0+ player, many of the higher-level games in Chiang Mai are not publicly listed. Instead, they are often organized through private groups.
These groups usually are not closed because they don’t welcome new players. Instead, players often want to make sure everyone has a similar skill level before adding someone new.
The best way to join these games is:
Attend Open Play sessions
Talk and build relationships with advanced players
Ask if any private groups match your level
Two places where you are more likely to meet advanced players and discover private games are:
BokBok Pickleball & Cafe
BokBok is probably one of the most beautiful pickleball venues in Chiang Mai, surrounded by lush greenery. A cafe is nearby. Plus, some unique paddles are available to try and test, including the Gen3 Pizza Paddle.

All Time Pickleball Indoor Court
With a fully indoor setup, All Time is a great place to play regardless of weather conditions. It is also a popular spot for competitive players.
